When Rachna Singh moved to Canada in 2001, she chose Surrey to build a better life for her young family. The warm welcome her family received, as they got involved in community activities, is something she will never forget.

Rachna has worked as a drug and alcohol counsellor, a support worker for women facing domestic violence, and a community activist – she has a proven track record of fighting for people and getting things done.

When her son attended Westerman Elementary, she saw first hand the damage the BC Liberals caused to our kids’ overcrowded schools. Over 7,000 Surrey students spent years learning in portables. Rachna is proud to have been part of a BC NDP government making record investments in schools and students – finally giving them the resources they need to succeed.
